It's ok, I'm nine months pregnant...

Here is a growing list of times when it is perfectly ok to respond, "It's ok, I'm nine months pregnant."

1. Dreams about being kidnapped, but somehow still incorporating heartburn into that same nightmare

2. Crying when the Amazon chat help center is so nice to you

3. Dreaming you've been kicked in the stomach and waking up only to realize you've been kicked in the stomach

4. Seriously considering rear-ending someone just so you'll never have to read their bumper sticker anymore

5. Crying at the "Better Life" commercials

6. Crying again during every Duvall western you catch on AMC

7. Being proud when you put on your shoes without bracing yourself on the counter

8. Having a two year old poke your "jelly hole" and ask, "What's dat, mama?"......then answering, "I'm really not sure anyone, honey."

9. Making stupid college kids move their wine from the grocery belt so you can keep your buy one get one free Oreos from being crushed.

10. Sitting in the bathroom at 2 am trying to figure out a way to sleep in there because you know you'll be right back there in 20 minutes, so why bother getting up

11. Laughing out loud when you find the Zantac bottle

12. Resisting the urge to hug all those sweethearts that smile at you when they realize they aren't holding the door open wide enough for you to get through

.......more to come.

We are still on our countdown for Baby Brady. We have negative three days left :) However, we are so thankful he is healthy and growing. I know, he will be here in his own time, please don't tell me that like I am a ridiculous person who hasn't ever thought of that. Hey, that's my number 13....

Waiting on Brady at Grandfather Mtn.

After the morning after my due date with my Mid-Wife hearing that I haven't changed, our family decided that a day at Grandfather Mountain would be perfectly called for. With my favorite two people by my chubby side, we spent a great day at the mountain. We did some extra walking to encourage stubborn, little Brady to make his arrival. Charlie had a blast. He told us he liked the "Mountain Lion," the "Mountain Deer," and the "Mountain Bear" the best. He cracks me up. Even though I had a mild heart attack when I saw that they actually walked the bridge while I was chatting it up with tourists, our day was relaxing and special because I know our days as a trio are drawing close to an end. I am cherishing this time.

Nana's Easter Eggs

Today we conducted what I am glad to say has become a tradition. At my Nana's house, Tiffany, Kendall, Grant, Kathy, Casey, Myra, Cheyenne, Marissa, Charlie and I gathered. The weather was perfect. We dyed eggs, hid them, and then let the kids romp and catch critters in the creek. We spent just a little while together enjoying the laughter of our children. Charlie came home with chocolate on his face, dye under his nails, dirt in his toes, and a huge smile on his face. I am so thankful for these memories and for everyone who was able to help make them.

(once again, my pictures are out of order, but that's just my idea of spicing things up I guess)

The hunt is on!!!!

Faith of a Child

Early this morning while I was being rooted out of the bed not only by my loving husband, but by Pie-Da-Man, and also by this wild ninja in my belly, I obviously wasn't getting much sleep. As uncomfortable as I am at these times, this seems to be the time when I find peace enough in my life to really talk to God.

I was laying there thinking about the visit at the doctor from that afternoon. Good news as always. Brady's heart was strong, his kicks were wild, and he was growing like he should. At every visit I am so thankful to have had Jamie and Charlie there. Charlie's job has been to push the button that turns on the heart doppler thingy, and he always...ALWAYS listens to the beats as my Mid-Wife, Heather, finds Brady's heart. Since early on Charlie has always known that it was his "Baby's Heart" that was beating. He has always seemed to truly understand this. Has he every seen this little guy he hears? No. Has he ever actually seen him laying in the bed we made for him? No. Is he able to see the little feet that kick him when he snuggles me? No. But somehow, in his precious little mind, Charlie has never, EVER doubted that all of those things are true. He has never questioned the idea that in this massive mound of a belly that his little head bumps into all the time, that his little brother is in there, and growing.

So as I am fending off kicks in the bed by Charlie's cold, little feet, I took time to thank the Lord for my day. I thanked him for all three of my boys, and I couldn't help but ask him to give me just a portion of the faith little Charlie has. I want to believe with all of my heart in the things I can't see, and I want to have the faith to be able to rest on the truths I have been told with no worry, no stress. Just as we have told Charlie of the things to come, and he took them never once wondering if they were true, I pray the Lord gives me the faith to take the things He has told me, and never question them, but have the faith of a child.

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 1:11

Our Bizarre Frog Egg Experience

IF MY MUSIC IS PLAYING, PAUSE THE MUSIC WHEN YOU ARE WATCHING THE VIDEO. IT IS IN THE BLUE BOX IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER. IF YOU DON'T HEAR MUSIC, THEN DON'T WORRY.

So, if you know about our house, then I am sure you are familiar with the ditch that is constantly being dug out behind our house. Jamie works weekly it seems to keep water from pooling. Somehow, within a week's time, stupid, crooking frogs made a trek to the water to lay their booger-like eggs. In a hormonal fit of rage, I began shoveling them out the day I realized they were there. Casey, my little sister, and Charlie immediately came to join in the "fun." Somehow, in the midst of my mud flying and fabric staining outburst, I noticed the oddest sounds. Roaring laughter. The kids were slinging eggs everywhere, and with eggs hanging from their clothing, they were having the time of their lives. I threw the shovel aside, and went over to them. I'd been such a poo about the fear of 10,000 frogs growing in my backyard, that I had forgotten to stop and tell them what we were dealing with. After a VERY simple and brief life cycle lesson, I ran and grabbed a Mason jar. Together we salvaged what few eggs were left. We placed them in the shade on our deck. Everyday for a couple weeks now, the kids check on their progress. I've done nothing but refresh their water, but they are thriving. They have been frozen solid TWICE and baked a couple times, but these scrappy little pests just won't give it up. So, here we are awaiting the transformation of our pets. Legs have formed, and the kids are actually beginning to believe that these little fish things will become frogs. Charlie is so interested that he tried to get more eggs himself, and had a horrible crash into the murky mess. I only had my phone to take the picture, but I captured a video before the bath. I've never felt so bad for laughing so hard in my life!

Rest assured, I will be updating. I am not quite sure how I will handle these creatures when they become frogs. I am pregnant, and rather grossed out by the things, so I am thinking they might possibly meet a terrible demise. Who knows? Maybe I will grow a heart before then and buy an aquarium.
